returned to this game after hearing a new patch dropped. first thing that i have to point out: i would get stuck in the tutorial stage, able to look around but unable to move. deleting the old ATOMIC LANCE appdata folder did fix the issue, though.

for the feedback:

- the cutscene was a bit too long, which makes me initially thought my game was bugged again.

- the older version's enemy attack indicator was gone so, as Vivian had said, they weren't telegraphed and so was a bit frustrating to guess when the enemies would attack.

- the money system was a bit confusing. due to it starting as 0$, it took me a while to realize that it's the total amount of money you have earned, not the older total amount of money you have lost (ammo, repairs, etc). maybe it's just that i was used to the old patch.

- worst thing was, the music doesn't loop. and when the cutscene's skipped, the music cuts out abruptly. my favorite teto track :'(

i love this game! it's just that there's still bugs and unfinished content until it's a full one, though. my comment might not be put together so coherently, but this is the first time i really want to see a game get better and more fun in the future.

  5. Sorry :( it didnt feel good to loop the music and the fix for that got cut out of this update because it was too big

Just released a patch that addressed some of these concerns:

Played around for a bit. It's interesting but it's obviously very early in development still. The game crashed when I dropped into a black pit in the middle of the map.

My main points of feedback would be:

  • The tutorial isn't explained very well, specially since the text telling you what to do appears in a corner of the screen
  • The whole screen lighting up with orange when damaged is very annoying, may even trigger photosensitivity for some people
  • Enemy attacks aren't too well telegraphed and your hitboxes are too big, resulting in getting hit by things that visually look like they are going to go around you
  • The mission is kind of aimless since enemies are just waiting around for you to find them and there isn't an objective I can tell

Still, I like the idea of a first person Armored Core kinda thing, so I'll check back some other time

  1. A better dialogue system was supposed to be included but I had to cut it out of this update. It’ll be in the next!

  2. Orange is for heat, red is for health. I agree it’s a bit too much

  3. It’s possible that the thing exploded next to you and the explosion doesnt really communicate that. I’ll see what I can do.

  4. No, the mission isn’t aimless, though I will have to say I communicated the objectives terribly. Theres 3 black monoliths around the map corresponding to 3 lights on the door to the main building. Once that’s out the door to the boss opens

very good game! however there's currently a major problem about replaying: when i quit to menu and try to play again, the launch button doesnt light up.
